Julie began her yoga journey when she stepped onto the mat in an Ashtanga class in Oakland and found what she calls “the perfect blend of athleticism and focus.” She has spent a decade studying across teachers and studios in the Bay Area, and graduated from both the 200-hour and 300-hour teacher training programs at YogaWorks. Her classes blend several of the classic yoga styles, with particular emphasis on breath and alignment. She considers yoga key to discovering the potential of mind, spirit and body. A full time yoga teacher and mother of two busy teenagers, Julie knows firsthand the challenges and joys of practicing yoga in the real world.
“Over time I came to realize yoga brings opportunity for enormous personal growth, peace and contentment that extends deep below the surface of the physical practice. I strive to bring the lessons learned on the mat into my everyday world, which has helped immensely in my ongoing pursuit to live in a place of balance and harmony.”
